Connect more deeply with your inner world

Journal Circle helps you slow down and explore what’s here now, supported by warm connection and community.

Life can be really hard. We need soft places to land.

Experience more curiosity and calm with the parts of you that might not usually get a chance to shine. Feel connected to a community of likehearted people and know you’re not alone. You might even discover something you didn’t know was present within your experience.

It’s all welcome here. Consider this your permission slip to feel what’s true for you in this moment and let judgment slip away.

Journal Circle is a monthly gathering to let new possibilities emerge from within you.

With right-sized prompts rooted in poetry, soft somatic explorations and the support of a community who gets it, you can gently explore what you are thinking, feeling and experiencing surrounded by kindness, curiosity and acceptance.

What folks have to say about Journal Circle

Hey there, friend,
I’m your host, Amanda

I created this monthly gathering because journalling is such a helpful practice, but so many things can get in the way of practicing it regularly.

Little things, like life and work and kids and caretaking and oh yeah, that perfectionist inner voice that says it only “counts” if it looks a certain way or hits a certain word count.

If you (like me!) are the kind of person who needs accountability to practice the things that we know are good for us, Journal Circle has been designed for you.

This is a space where we can do our own inner exploration, but stay connected to one another with positivity, compassion and kindness.

If you’re curious to know more about me and why I love this work, you can discover more here.

    FAQs

    • The best way to find out if Journal Circle is right for you is to join our next session and experience it for yourself.

I strive to make this space welcoming for you, no matter how you identify or experience this world. I explicitly want to welcome folks who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color, people in the LBGTQ+ community, and people who identify as neurodivergent. Your experiences MATTER and deserve to be witnessed.

I identify as a white, queer, cis-woman who is perpetually unlearning the toxicity of western culture. If you have ideas for how I could make this space better and more supportive, I welcome any feedback that will help you feel more at ease.

    • Journal Circle is a free monthly workshop, so there are no refunds.

If you cannot join the session and you have some notice, I ask that you cancel your ticket to open the spot to someone else who may like to join. But it’s okay if you can’t make it, life happens!

Please note that folks will not be admitted 5 mins after start time to maintain a safe + supportive environment.

    • Sure thing! We begin by introducing ourselves to one another, either on mic or in the chat.

I will guide us in a grounding practice to help us settle in — these will explore a mixture of somatics and mindfulness practices.

We’ll get into a couple of journalling exercises, using questions, poetry and prompts to get your pen moving. You’ll have a couple moments to share what you've uncovered or learned, if you feel called to.

We’ll close out with a tarot reading to offer you some ideas to take with you into your life.

    • Simply bring what you need to be ready for a journalling session. Please bring a notebook or paper and a pen or pencil. You could type if you prefer, but writing by hand gets different parts of my brain moving than I usually get to use — you might find that is true for your experience as well.

You could also bring anything that helps you feel present, like lighting a candle or incense, bringing a blanket or a beverage.

    • – Although we live in different places and countries and may not know each other beyond the borders of this space, we commit to assume the best of one another.

      – We hold ourselves and one another with tenderness, curiosity and respect.

      – We are united here in learning more about ourselves and what we want to make in this world, so we hold anything personal that has been shared in confidence.

      – We’re allowed to fuck up, and welcome the opportunity to learn and grow by inviting feedback delivered with love.

      – All is welcome, tears and laughter and worries. Here, you are invited to show up as whole, who you are, in this moment, every moment.

      – We will not tolerate any behaviour that jeopardizes the safety of people in this group. Zero tolerance for mocking, trolling or harassment of any kind.

    • You can share Journal Circle with a friend who may find it helpful!

You can also choose to support this space by contributing a tip. Support from people like you helps me continue to do what I do, and it is much appreciated.

A portion of all proceeds will go towards supporting local charitable causes.
